ARC Raiders adds Duo matchmaking and updates the store.

Embark Studios has quietly added Duo matchmaking to the highly successful ARC Raiders. ARC Raiders has been shattering Steam records, only 10 days after launch. However, when the game first released, the team was focused on Solo and Squads being prioritized to matchmaking and playing separately.

Many of us have been playing in pairs, heading out to search for loot in the Spaceport or the Dam. You just never know who you’ll run into out there on the Rust Belt. Sometimes we would come across another pair, or a solo, and sometimes a team of three. Now, Embark is working towards having Duo’s match up with other Duos in hopes of not being overwhelmed by a Trio or having our Duo dominate a solo player.

How it works:

Solos and Squads are first prioritized to play on separate servers. After that, the priority changes to Duos playing together and Trios playing with other Trios. That is the goal of the team. However, this won’t always be 100% guaranteed as servers begin to fill up. You might run into a Trio while out on your journey.

The team have been listening to player feedback and will be rolling back some of the cosmetic prices in the store starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 13th, at 4:30AM EST. For any Raiders that have already purchased some of the gear that will see an adjustment, you’re in luck. Embark has said that they would compensate the difference for players with the cosmetics affected by the price change. As for our Raider Tokens, those will see a refund in the coming week.

Currently, players only have access to one Raider Deck. At the moment, this is a free Raider Deck for players to grind for cosmetics and gear. Look for them to add future Raider Decks, both free and premium Raider Decks. Don’t worry, Embark has stated that there will be NO, Pay to Win items in the premium deck. The paid Raider Deck will be based on cosmetics and convenience.

Next up for ARC Raiders will be the arrival of their 5th map, Stella Montis joining the roster of maps later this month.

The latest discussion among the community is if Embark should implement a PvE mode.
