PS Portal Cloud Streaming LIVE TODAY: Stream PS5 Library No Console Needed
Cloud Streaming Launches on PlayStation Portal
Cloud Streaming launches today on the PlayStation Portal, allowing new support for your digital PS5 library.
Those who have purchased the PlayStation Plus Premium tier will now be able to stream select PS5 games directly to their PS Portal. Originally launching PlayStation’s handheld device in November 2023, the device was initially intended to allow those with a PS5 and a PS Portal to connect via Remote Play to their PS5 and enjoy the titles from anywhere.
Last year, PlayStation launched their Cloud Streaming Beta, which allowed PS Plus Premium members to access select PS5 games from the games catalog and the Classic Catalog without the need to connect to their console via Remote Play.
Starting today, November 5th at 9pm EST, Cloud Streaming for PS5 games for those with the PS Plus Premium membership has officially launched with some new features as well.
Premium members will now be able to stream select PS5 games from their own library, such as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, and Ghost of Yotei—check out our full review here. if you haven’t yet, among many others.

A Redesigned UI
The home screen has now been completely overhauled with three tabs: Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search.
- Remote Play home screen: Connect to a PS5 console paired with the PS Portal to enjoy games installed on that console. A PlayStation Plus membership is not required for Remote Play.
- Cloud Streaming home screen: A new dedicated home screen for Cloud Streaming allows PlayStation Plus Premium members to instantly stream a range of compatible PS5 games without waiting for downloads.
- Search screen: Quickly look up any game that supports Cloud Streaming. If you don’t have the entitlement to stream a game, a QR code will be displayed to direct you to the PlayStation App or a web browser on another device.
Among these additions are a few other enhancements that have made their way to PS Portal, including 3D Audio support, Passcode lock, Network Status Screen, in-game store access for purchases (a first), game invites, and Accessibility options. This is by far the largest update we’ve seen come to the platform.
