Half-Life 3 feels all but a myth, a pipedream that one day fans may actually receive one of the most requested games in history. Valve is in no means rushing the highly anticipated title, but things aren’t lining up as more and more bits of information are beginning to stir.

Now, in a YouTube video, Tyler McVicker has provided new details surrounding Valve’s project HLX. Tyler has been known to gather critical information about Valve titles in the past, but, know that you should take all of this with a grain of salt as Valve has yet to officially reveal the Half-Life 3 title at all to fans.

Tyler’s YouTube channel, for those unaware of Tyler, focuses on game development and coding. And after spotting some coding changes with the Counter-Strike 2 source 2 engine, damage groups that will allow players to target different parts of the model have begun surfacing. Tyler points out that damage groups in Counter-Strike are targeted at humanoid players, where HLX is targeted at more than just human-like targets. In fact, the code is adding more than human limb targeting points for players to target. Something Tyler referred to as Zenguerrilla’s, which is basically a creature with tentacles.

Not only does this bring fans to believe Half-Life 3 is in development, but, The Game Awards have been rather active in building hype for this years event asking fans, “What’s you dream game sequel announcement?” and “What’s your dream world premiere at The Game Awards this year on December 11th?” with fan reactions pointing to the obvious: Half-Life 3. Though fans would love the reveal of Half-Life 3 at The Game Awards, Tyler says “Don’t get your hopes up” its likely going to be a tweet from Valve announcing the trailer.
