Starfield PS5 Release Delayed to 2026: Expansion and Upgrades Await PlayStation Fans
Xbox isn’t a company looking for their next big exclusive anymore. Those days are gone, as we have many first party titles making the jump to other platforms too much success. Forza Horizon 5 is one of the more noticeable titles to make its way to PlayStation, becoming one of the best-selling new titles of 2025 on the platform. When it comes to the Xbox library of first-party titles to yet make the leap to other consoles, there aren’t many left.
One rather large title that Bethesda fans are hopeful to make the platform jump over to PlayStation is Starfield. Rumors have been circulating for a while that Xbox is getting ready to bring the sci-fi RPG adventure to other platforms, which all lines-up with the Xbox strategy of late. So when is Starfield coming to PlayStation?
NateTheHate, a well-known insider of all things Xbox, was asked on X if he had an update on the PS5 version of Starfield. The game is expected to include the second expansion and benefit from quality-of-life improvements. However, it doesn’t appear to be this year any longer. NateTheHate replied to the question with, “believe the announcement will be in 2026 unless plans change.”
Sorry PlayStation fans, it looks like Starfield won’t be making its way over to PlayStation just yet. However, these are all rumors that should be taken with a grain of salt. Why the delay is one question fans would like to know about. Is the delay to 2026 caused by the next Starfield expansion? Bethesda hasn’t begun discussions about the next expansion as yet. If the rumors are true, the PlayStation version of Starfield is expected to have the second expansion included. Perhaps development is taking a bit longer than expected and that is the cause of its original 2025 release.
